Starfield Freestar Collective
Defending and championing liberty across its territories, the Starfield Freestar Collective faction is one of the game's many joinable factions
Want to know more about the Starfield Freestar Collective faction? This is a confederation of three star systems and is one of the biggest players across the Settled Systems, but the faction isn’t necessarily interested in expanding its borders, political clout, or influence. Its main goal is to preserve and protect the personal freedoms of its citizens, and it sees itself as a peacekeeping force.
This is one of many joinable Starfield factions and you can collect missions from its military force station at The Rock in Akila. We still don’t know exactly how many Starfield locations the Freestar Collective controls, but its main rival is the United Colonies.
When was the Freestar Collective founded?
While we don’t know exactly when the Freestar Collective was founded, its capital city of Akila was founded by Solomon Coe in 2167. This is very similar to the establishment of the Starfield United Colonies faction, suggesting that the Freestar Collective is a breakaway group.
The Freestar Collective is the second largest faction in the Settled Systems and was at war with the largest, the United Colonies, just 20 years before the events of Starfield’s narrative. This is known as the Colony War and while the two groups are no longer at war, there’s plenty of tension.
Can you join the Freestar Collective?
It’s not completely clear how or if the player can join the Freestar Collective, but the Starfield gameplay trailer suggests that you’ll be able to join their peacekeeping force at The Rock in Akila.
What is the Freestar Collective's capital city?
Akila is the capital city of the Freestar Collective, although we don’t know what planet or star system it’s found in. Like UC’s New Atlantis, Akila is described as being home to a variety of people.
