Africa calls to me. In my dreams I see it’s burnt seared skies. The dunes, the scrub tundra, all of the wildlife the Gods chose to bless us with.

I see its people. Strong, powerful, a hard people as we must be in our tough land. To hear what became of so many after my time… pierces my heart.

Would that we had left the Cradle of Humanity and marched on the Eternal City and humbled her. Imagine what histories would be told with us as the heroes?

But it is something to know that I am here when so many others aren’t. Who is laughing now, Augustus?
