Starfield gets cooking with a new quest, free vehicle, and achievements fix
The 1.14.74 Starfield update brings with it two new free Starfield Creation mods for the Deimog land vehicle, and a cookery-based questline.
The 1.14.74 Starfield update brings with it numerous bugfixes to the wider Starfield community following a short period on Steam Beta. Far more exciting is the introduction of two official Bethesda Starfield mods which introduce a new vehicle which is faster and more powerful than the REV-8 rover, and a whole new questline for food-lovers.
Prior to the 1.14.74 update, only one vehicle was available in Starfield which was introduced in the 1.13.61 update. Now, Bethesda is introducing the Deimog buggy, a faster, more heavily-armored, and more lethal Starfield vehicle.
Alongside the vehicle, Bethesda has released a new Starfield mission in the spirit of Thanksgiving. Known as The Perfect Recipe, Spacefarers will be tasked with assisting a down-on-his-luck chef with regaining his passion and becoming the next space Gordon Ramsay.
But the change most fans will likely resonate with, regardless of whether they do or don’t pick up Bethesda’s latest Creation content is the fix for achievements. Any official or verified Starfield mod will now have the option to be compatible with Starfield achievements.
Previously, all mods, even those released by Bethesda, disabled achievements, making it impossible to earn trophies unless you played the vanilla experience, or installed a mod from the Nexus hub. After considerable fan feedback, Bethesda has decided to enable achievements across all verified mods, giving players a bit more liberty when it comes to expanding the game.
With the latest update having just landed, it’s quite possible that Bethesda will release one more update before the end of 2024. Last year, a December end of year update was released alongside a rough roadmap for what Bethesda planned to add to the game over the course of 2024. Hopefully, this year will be no exception and we will get to see what Bethesda has up its sleeve for 2025, and hopefully they’ll hint at their next Starfield DLC.
