Starfield Botany skill overview

The Starfield Botany skill is a tier 2 skill in the Science skill tree. It, as with all Starfield skills, has 4 ranks, beginning at rank 1 and ending at rank 4. In order to progress up the Botany skill tree, you will need to complete various skill challenges related to the skill in question, and increase your Starfield level to earn skill points. Each rank requires a skill point to unlock.

The Botany skill allows you to gather more resources from plants, providing you with rarer resources the further you rank up this skill, it also allows you to learn more information about plants, the information and scan time will improve the further this skill is ranked.

Resources are an important aspect of the game and this provides a way to acquire rare resources while also learning more about the environment of planets.

In-game Botany skill description

The scientific study of flora, while important on Earth, became even more essential as humanity began exploring alien worlds.

The Botany skill has the following ranks and stats:

1		Get more common and uncommon organic resources from plants, learn additional info about them from the scanner, and allows some plants to be cultivated at your outposts.	Harvest 20 organic resources from plants.
2		Get more rare organic resources from plants and learn information about them more quickly using the scanner.	Harvest 50 organic resources from plants.
3		Get more exotic organic resources from plants and learn information about them more quickly using the scanner.	Harvest 100 organic resources from plants.
4		Occasionally harvest additional rarer resources from plants, and learn information about them more quickly using the scanner.	You have mastered this skill.

How to unlock Botany console command

If you want to add the Botany Starfield skill to your character without increasing your Starfield level or expending a skill point, simply open the Starfield console command window with the apostrophe (‘) or tilde (~) key and enter the following command:

player.addperk 002C5557

By repeating the player.addperk 002C5557 command, you can bypass the Botany rank-up challenge and unlock the next rank. Entering the above command four times will unlock the rank 4 Botany skill.

To remove the Botany skill, you can use the following command:

player.removeperk 002C5557
