Starfield Diplomacy skill overview
The Starfield Diplomacy skill is a tier 2 skill in the Social skill tree. It, as with all Starfield skills, has 4 ranks, beginning at rank 1 and ending at rank 4. In order to progress up the Diplomacy skill tree, you will need to complete various skill challenges related to the skill in question, and increase your Starfield level to earn skill points. Each rank requires a skill point to unlock.
This skill allows you to force enemies to stop fighting for a short while. As this skill is ranked up you are able to use this skill on higher level enemies. The final rank of this skill allows you to stop NPCs fighting permanently, until they are attacked again. The Diplomacy offers you an alternate way to end an engagement, giving you time to escape or end the conflict if you have mastered this skill.
In-game Diplomacy skill description
When a situation calls for words and not weapons, it’s best to rely on those trained in statecraft and de-escalation.
The Diplomacy skill has the following ranks and stats:

You can force a target NPC at or below your level to stop fighting for a while. Successfully use Diplomacy on 5 different people. 2 
You can force a target NPC up to 10 levels higher than you to stop fighting for a while. Successfully use Diplomacy on 25 different people. 3 
You can force a target NPC up to 20 levels higher than you to stop fighting for a while. Successfully use Diplomacy on 50 different people. 4 
You can force target NPCs to permanently stop fighting (unless they are attacked again). You have mastered this skill.
How to unlock Diplomacy console command
If you want to add the Diplomacy Starfield skill to your character without increasing your Starfield level or expending a skill point, simply open the Starfield console command window with the apostrophe (‘) or tilde (~) key and enter the following command:
player.addperk 002C59E1
By repeating the player.addperk 002C59E1 command, you can bypass the Diplomacy rank-up challenge and unlock the next rank. Entering the above command four times will unlock the rank 4 Diplomacy skill.
To remove the Diplomacy skill, you can use the following command:
player.removeperk 002C59E1
