Food has never looked so good in any previous Bethesda title, and the Starfield Gastronomy skill will let you whip a few of them up yourself.

The Gastronomy skill is centered around cooking and brewing, which will grant the Spacefarer stat boosts and healing. Each rank will increase the number of recipes available to the player.
Starfield Gastronomy skill overview
The Starfield Gastronomy skill is a tier 2 skill in the Social skill tree. It, as with all Starfield skills, has 4 ranks, beginning at rank 1 and ending at rank 4. In order to progress up the Gastronomy skill tree, you will need to complete various skill challenges related to the skill in question, and increase your Starfield level to earn skill points. Each rank requires a skill point to unlock.
This skill allows for the creation of specialty food and drinks. You will be able to research more food and drink recipes at a research lab. The final rank of this skill gives you a chance to not use any resources when crafting a food or drink item. Food and drink items have the ability to replenish HP or give you various stat boosts, having this skill enables you to discover and craft new food and drink items which will be useful in an array of situations.
In-game Gastronomy skill description
Access to brand new worlds means access to brand new ingredients, and there is almost no limit to the delicious foods and drinks a talented chef can prepare.
The Gastronomy skill has the following ranks and stats:

You can craft specialty food and drinks, and research additional recipes at a Research Lab. Create 5 food or drink items. 2 
You can research and craft gourmet food and drinks. Create 25 food or drink items. 3 
You can research and craft food and drink delicacies. Create 50 food or drink items. 4 
Crafting food and drinks occasionally doesn't use up resources. You can research and craft exotic recipes. You have mastered this skill.
How to unlock Gastronomy console command
If you want to add the Gastronomy Starfield skill to your character without increasing your Starfield level or expending a skill point, simply open the Starfield console command window with the apostrophe (‘) or tilde (~) key and enter the following command:
player.addperk 002C5A94
By repeating the player.addperk 002C5A94 command, you can bypass the Gastronomy rank-up challenge and unlock the next rank. Entering the above command four times will unlock the rank 4 Gastronomy skill.
To remove the Gastronomy skill, you can use the following command:
player.removeperk 002C5A94
