You’re almost certainly going to take damage at some point in Starfield, whether it’s from a gunfight or jumping off a very tall ledge. To recover your health, you’ll need to use Med Packs, and the Medicine skill improves how much healing each pack will deliver.

Starfield Medicine skill overview

The Starfield Medicine skill is a tier 1 skill in the Science skill tree. It, as with all Starfield skills, has 4 ranks, beginning at rank 1 and ending at rank 4. In order to progress up the Medicine skill tree, you will need to complete various skill challenges related to the skill in question, and increase your Starfield level to earn skill points. Each rank requires a skill point to unlock.

This skill increases the speed and amount of healing from Med packs, Trauma Packs and Emergency Kits. The final rank gives you a chance to cure an affliction when using these items.

During your time in Starfield it is likely you will be often using medical items, so this skill would be a great choice as it makes any medical items you use more effective.

In-game Medicine skill description

Only through advancements in medical training and technology has humanity been able to withstand the galaxy’s many dangers.

The Medicine skill has the following ranks and stats:

3		Med Packs, Trauma Packs, and Emergency Kits restore 30% additional Health 30% faster	Use healing items 100 times while wounded.
4		Med Packs, Trauma Packs, and Emergency Kits restore 50% additional Health 50% faster, and have a chance to cure an affliction.	You have mastered this skill.

How to unlock Medicine console command

If you want to add the Medicine Starfield skill to your character without increasing your Starfield level or expending a skill point, simply open the Starfield console command window with the apostrophe (‘) or tilde (~) key and enter the following command:

player.addperk 002CE2DF

By repeating the player.addperk 002CE2DF command, you can bypass the Medicine rank-up challenge and unlock the next rank. Entering the above command four times will unlock the rank 4 Medicine skill.

To remove the Medicine skill, you can use the following command:

player.removeperk 002CE2DF
