Starfield Weapon Engineering skill overview

The Starfield Weapon Engineering skill is a tier 2 skill in the Science skill tree. It, as with all Starfield skills, has 4 ranks, beginning at rank 1 and ending at rank 4. In order to progress up the Weapon Engineering skill tree, you will need to complete various skill challenges related to the skill in question, and increase your Starfield level to earn skill points. Each rank requires a skill point to unlock.

The Weapon Engineering skill gives you the ability to craft improve weapon mods at a weapon workbench and research additional weapons at a research lab. As you rank up this skill you will be able to research and craft more advanced weapons.

This skill gives you the potential to gain some powerful and effective weaponary to give you the upper hand in combat.

In-game Weapon Engineering skill description

Life in the 24th century can be exceedingly dangerous, and the ability to maintain and modify personal weapons can be essential to one’s survival.

The Weapon Engineering skill has the following ranks and stats:

1		You can craft improved weapon mods at a Weapon Workbench, and research additional weapon mods at a Research Lab.	Craft 5 weapon mods.
2		You can research and craft superior weapon mods.	Craft 15 weapon mods.
3		You can research and craft cutting-edge weapon mods.	Craft 30 weapon mods.
4		You can research and craft master-level weapon mods.	You have mastered this skill.

How to unlock Weapon Engineering console command

If you want to add the Weapon Engineering Starfield skill to your character without increasing your Starfield level or expending a skill point, simply open the Starfield console command window with the apostrophe (‘) or tilde (~) key and enter the following command:

player.addperk 002C890C

By repeating the player.addperk 002C890C command, you can bypass the Weapon Engineering rank-up challenge and unlock the next rank. Entering the above command four times will unlock the rank 4 Weapon Engineering skill.

To remove the Weapon Engineering skill, you can use the following command:

player.removeperk 002C890C
