As a Melee weapon, the Barrow Knife can be used to stun enemies with a flurry of close-range attacks. This is particularly useful for enemies with heavy weapons, especially if you can interupt the enemy’s reloading animation.
However, bear in mind that using a melee weapon as your main source of damage can put you at a disadvantage in a major firefight if you haven’t packed enough healing consumables. Stock up on medicine that boosts your damage resistance to further improve your effectiveness with the Barrow Knife.
Currently, it is not possible to equip Starfield weapon mods to melee weapons, but this could change in the future with Starfield DLC or Starfield mods.
