Violence isn’t always the answer, sometimes it’s better to use the Starfield Persuasion skill to resolve a problem.

Starfield’s persuasion mechanic has been massively overhauled compared to previous Bethesda titles. This new mini-game consists of several ‘turns’, each of which will require you to spend ‘speech points’ to advance the conversation. By taking the Persuasion skill, you’ll get more points to spend to make speech challenges easier.
Starfield Persuasion skill overview
The Starfield Persuasion skill is a tier 1 skill in the Social skill tree. It, as with all Starfield skills, has 4 ranks, beginning at rank 1 and ending at rank 4. In order to progress up the Persuasion skill tree, you will need to complete various skill challenges related to the skill in question, and increase your Starfield level to earn skill points. Each rank requires a skill point to unlock.
The Persuasion skill increases your chances of success when persuading NPCs, making it easier to pass speech checks and convince NPCs.
Speech checks are a frequent occurrence in Starfield so this skill would be a great choice to get NPCs to do what you want

In the Settled Systems, the nuanced ability to listen and discuss can often accomplish far more than simply shooting first and asking questions later.
The Persuasion skill has the following ranks and stats:

10% increased chance of success when persuading someone. Succeed in 3 speech challenges. 2 
20% increased chance of success when persuading someone. Succeed in 5 speech challenges. 3 
30% increased chance of success when persuading someone. Succeed in 10 speech challenges. 4 
50% increased chance of success when persuading someone. You have mastered this skill.
How to unlock Persuasion console command
If you want to add the Persuasion Starfield skill to your character without increasing your Starfield level or expending a skill point, simply open the Starfield console command window with the apostrophe (‘) or tilde (~) key and enter the following command:
player.addperk 0022EC82
By repeating the player.addperk 0022EC82 command, you can bypass the Persuasion rank-up challenge and unlock the next rank. Entering the above command four times will unlock the rank 4 Persuasion skill.
To remove the Persuasion skill, you can use the following command:
player.removeperk 0022EC82
