With the Starfield Pistol Certification skill, you’ll turn your pistols and sidearms into truly deadly weapons.

The EON pistol and similar guns will benefit from the Pistol Certification skill. Combine this with the Ballistics or Lasers skill, and you can potentially combine the damage bonuses when using pistols that deal physical or energy damage.
Starfield Pistol Certification skill overview
The Starfield Pistol Certification skill is a tier 1 skill in the Combat skill tree. It, as with all Starfield skills, has 4 ranks, beginning at rank 1 and ending at rank 4. In order to progress up the Pistol Certification skill tree, you will need to complete various skill challenges related to the skill in question, and increase your Starfield level to earn skill points. Each rank requires a skill point to unlock.
The Pistol Certification skill dramatically increases damage dealt by pistols as you rank it up. Upon reaching the final rank pistol kills will now increase your critical hit chance for a short time.
Pistols are useful as a secondary weapon, and this skill can enhance their lethality.
In-game Pistol Certification skill description
Considering the popularity of the personal sidearm in the Settled Systems, familiarity with such weapons is often considered essential.
The Pistol Certification skill has the following ranks and stats:

Pistols do 10% more damage. Kill 20 enemies with a pistol. 2 
Pistols do 25% more damage. Kill 50 enemies with pistols. 3 
Pistols do 50% more damage. Kill 100 enemies with pistols. 4 
Pistol kills grant +25% critical hit chance for 5 seconds. You have mastered this skill.
How to unlock Pistol Certification console command
If you want to add the Pistol Certification Starfield skill to your character without increasing your Starfield level or expending a skill point, simply open the Starfield console command window with the apostrophe (‘) or tilde (~) key and enter the following command:
player.addperk 002080FF
By repeating the player.addperk 002080FF command, you can bypass the Pistol Certification rank-up challenge and unlock the next rank. Entering the above command four times will unlock the rank 4 Pistol Certification skill.
To remove the Pistol Certification skill, you can use the following command:
player.removeperk 002080FF
