Further Into the Unknown is a Starfield Main quest. Further Into the Unknown is preceded by Starborn, and followed by Short Sighted.
With the emergence of the Starborn posing more questions than answers, it’s time to find more Artifacts. Speak with Vlad, then head over to Indum III-a and Eridani VIII-c.

Further into the Unknown walkthrough
If you’re looking for a step-by-step Starfield Further Into the Unknown walkthrough, we’ve got you covered. Check out the numbered list below to complete this mission.
- Talk to Vladamir at The Lodge in New Atlantis. He’ll give you locations he believes could hold Artifacts. You can complete either of the two objectives below in any order.
- Head to Aranae I. Land at the abandoned outpost. Clear out the Spacers. Follow the waypoint to enter the helium-3 extraction site. Continue to follow the waypoints through the cave, taking out spacers as you go. As you near the Artifact, prepare for a fight. You’ll have to take down a Starborn to get past.
- Head to Tau Ceti VIII-A. Land at Deserted Robotics Lab. Fight your way through the pirates and into the main compound. Follow the waypoint until you discover a breach in the wall and pass through it. Follow the path and you’ll find a Starborn guarding the Artifact.
- Once you have both Artifacts, it’s time to head back to the Lodge. Add the Artifacts to the Collection. After a short conversation with Matteo and Vladamir, you’ll have completed the mission.
