Starfield concept art
During early development, Bethesda released some beautiful Starfield concept art to show us how they envisioned their spacefaring epic.
A lot of Starfield concept art has been released since both the original teaser trailer in 2018, and the game’s full release in 2023. The teaser trailer only provided small glimpses of what was to come, but Bethesda released a gallery of conceptual artwork soon after to stoke our appetites.
We’ve gathered all the Starfield concept art there is to see in one place so you can see how Bethesda originally envisioned their spacefaring epic. Did the release live up to the vision?

Starfield planet concept art
With over 1000 planets spread across 100 systems, players encounter a considerable variety of biomes and locales. One of the first Starfield concept art pieces gave an impression of what alien environments were awaiting players in the Settled Systems.
Though concept art frequently informs the development of a game and rarely features at release as it was originally intended, it’s interesting to see the alien creatures in the wasteland biome artwork were translated into the game as the Kreet Stalker enemy.
Starfield city concept art
Prior to the June 2022 Starfield gameplay trailer, the Starfield cities depicted in the official Starfield concept art were nameless, and only became known as New Atlantis, Cydonia, Neon, and Akila City towards the game’s release.
Starfield ship concept art
A number of concept art pieces focused around the player’s ship, including in a docked state, and at the capital of the planet Jemison.
