Starfield concept art

During early development, Bethesda released some beautiful Starfield concept art to show us how they envisioned their spacefaring epic.

A lot of Starfield concept art has been released since the original teaser trailer in 2018. With the teaser trailer only providing small glimpses of what was to come, Bethesda released a gallery of conceptual artwork to stoke our appetites.

We’ve gathered all the Starfield concept art there is to see in one place so you can see what planets, ships, and other locations Bethesda has planned.

With over 1000 planets spread across 100 systems, players will encounter a considerable variety of biomes and locales. Only a few locations have been explored within various trailers and interviews, but the Starfield concept art gives us an impression of what else lies waiting in the Settled Systems.

Though concept art frequently informs the development of a game and rarely features as it was originally painted, it’s interesting to see the alien creatures in the desert biome artwork are almost certainly Kreet Stalkers, enemies found on the planet of Kreet. We will know if this sulphuric chasm can be visited when we arrive at the Starfield release date.

Starfield city concept art

Prior to the June 2022 Starfield gameplay trailer, the cities depicted in the official Starfield concept art were unknown. Now, not only do we know more about New Atlantis, Akila City, and Neon, but we also have more details for the fourth capital of the Settled Systems, Cydonia.

A number of concept art pieces focused around the player’s ship, including in a docked state which could be at one of many Starfield locations, or an example of base building that has yet to be seen.
