If you don’t have an Xbox Series X|S console or a PC, you can still play Starfield on your TV with one free app.
Starfield PS5 fans were largely disappointed to hear that Bethesda was making Starfield Xbox and PC exclusive, but an announcement from Samsung has made Starfield more accessible. As it turns out, you don’t need a console or PC to play Starfield. You just need a Starfield TV.
Anyone who has purchased a Samsung TV may or may not be familiar with the Samsung Gaming Hub. The Samsung Gaming Hub is a streaming service which allows you to access hundreds of games from your TV with just one Game Pass subscription. If you get the Game Pass now and you have one of these TVs, you can start playing Starfield as soon as it releases in September.
Best of all? You don’t need a PC or console to play Starfield, or any of the other amazing games on offer with Game Pass. The Samsung Gaming Hub is a free app which allows you to stream video games directly onto your TV, no console required. The only caveat is that your Samsung TV must be a 2022 or 2023 Samsung Smart TV.
If you have a compatible Samsung TV, you should have the Samsung Gaming Hub app installed by default. You’ll only need to grab a Starfield Game Pass subscription to start playing Starfield from September 6, 2023.
As a cherry-on-top, Starfield cross save compatibility works with the Samsung TV, allowing you to carry your game progress over to a PC or Xbox console should you wish to.
You will need a Starfield controller or equivalent in order to play Starfield on the TV, which you’ll want to grab quickly because the Starfield release date is fast approaching.
