A short rocket launch from humanity’s birthplace, Mars is a vast red desert and home to the original off-world settlement: Cydonia. A considerable industrial complex, Mars has become a critical repository of resources for the United Colonies faction, and hosts one of the most extensive mining operations in the Settled Systems.
Most Starfield planets will generate a number of locations you can visit, so your experience may vary from other players who visit Mars. Fortunately, there are a number of locations that have a fixed planet to call home. By performing a scan of Mars from orbit, you will be able to see how many resources Mars has, and where they are distributed if you wish to build a resource extractor at an outpost. Should you land on the planet, you can find small resource nodes scattered throughout the environment. By using your scanner, you can mine these Starfield resources and add them directly to your inventory. Once you’ve scanned every resource, fauna, flora, and trait on a planet, you will get a special Note item with a high Credits value added to your inventory. You’ll also be able to see all of Mars‘s stats, which you can find below.
