The Old Neighborhood

The Old Neighborhood is a mission you can find and complete in Starfield.

The Old Neighborhood overview

The Old Neighborhood is a Starfield Main quest. Like all other Starfield missions, you can find the full details of The Old Neighborhood in your mission log, and you can easily find your next objective location by following the quest marker, or by entering the scanner mode and following Starfield’s breadcrumb trail.

The Old Neighborhood is preceded by One Small Step, and followed by Back to Vectera, Into the Unknown and The Empty Nest.

Now that you’re officially a member of Constellation, your hunt for the next Artifact takes you in search of a UC patrol officer.

You can begin The Old Neighborhood by interacting with 2227.

The Old Neighborhood walkthrough

Our Starfield The Old Neighborhood walkthrough has all the information you need to get through the second mission of the game. Once that’s done, you can go a bit further afield and check out many planets and systems waiting to be explored.

  1. Talk to Sarah Morgan, and she will become your new companion.
  2. You can either speak with Noel and get to know the people in The Lodge or you can leave straight away with Sarah.
  3. Once you’ve left The Lodge, go and meet with Sarah’s contact at the MAST building. Choose whether or not you would like to join the Vanguard in the quest Supra Et Ultra.
  4. Make your way back to the Frontier and fast travel to Mars in the Sol system, then land in Cydonia.
    1. Technically, you can bypass most of this mission by simply flying to the location of Moara’s ship, which is in orbit around Neptune. However, doing so will mean skipping a conversation with Jack which can raise your affinity with Sarah, and can mean missing out on the Nova Galactic Staryard where you can find a wide range of loot.
  5. Follow the waypoint in Cydonia and make your way to the bartender, Jack.
    1. If you allow Sarah to speak during your conversation, you can save 50% of the credits needed to buy the information Jack is selling.
  6. After you’ve spoken to Jack, fast travel to Venus.
  7. You must examine the satellite by either attacking the three House Va’ruun spaceships or going stealthily by turning your engine low so you won’t get detected by the enemy spaceships.
  8. After you’ve examined the satellite beacon you can fast travel to the Nova Galactic Staryard.
  9. Talk to Sarah and dock at the Nova Galactic Staryard.
  10. Search the place and find clues about Moara’s location.
  11. Once you have reached the waypoint after taking down many Ecliptic Mercenaries, you should find Moara’s Slate with an audio log on it.
  12. Go back to the Frontier and travel to Neptune.
  13. Attack Moara’s ship and dock once the engines are down.
  14. Clear Moara’s ship of hostiles.
  15. Get the key from one of the Ecliptic Mercenaries and unlock the cockpit door to speak to Moara.
  16. Take the Artifact from Moara’s ship and return to The Lodge.
  17. Place the artifact onto the table and chat to Sarah.
  18. You will gain a level-scaled number of Credits, 400 XP and also a full Constellation suit for finishing The Old Neighborhood.

The Old Neighborhood mission console commands

If you just want to start the The Old Neighborhood mission, all you need to do is enter the following Starfield console command to begin:

startquest 000114CD

Be warned that attempting to start a quest that requires specific triggers or hidden markers can result in game instability, so it is recommended you save your game before trying any commands. If however you are encountering a Starfield bug that prevents the mission from advancing, you might want to try the following:

resetquest 000114CD

The above command will completely reset a quest (make sure you save your game beforehand in case it causes a crash to desktop). It also has the potential to prevent that quest from ever completing, meaning you’ll need to use the completequest 000114CD command to progress.
