Whether you’re a space pirate or a planetary do-gooder, you’re going to need to clear your Starfield bounty from time to time. It’s that, or face off in an endless battle against factions like the United Colonies of the Freestar Collective. So, we’ve put together this guide on paying off you’re own bounty, making it that bit easier to land on whichever planet you feel like exploring.

How to wipe your Starfield bounty
Getting rid of your Starfield bounty is actually quite easy, though the game might not make you think that. Unlike in some Bethesda games, you can’t just rock up to the location or planet where you’ve committed a crime and offer to pay. In the Settled Systems, it’s guns first and talking later, with much of the talking taking place over your body after fifteen security guards surround you.
To clear your bounty, you need to find a Bounty Clearance Kiosk that belongs in a system not affiliated with the one you’ve committed a crime in. For example, if you’re wanted in New Atlantis, you can head along to Madame Sauvage’s in Neon Ebbside and use the kiosk right by the entrance to pay off your crimes. We’ve got a list of different options below:
- Akila City – The Hitching Post
- Neon – Astral Lounge
- Neon – Madame Sauvage’s Place
- Cydonia – Broken Spear
- Deimos – Deimos Staryard
- HopeTown – Pit Stop
If you have multiple bounties, remember to pay them all off before returning to the System you’re wanted in. Even if it’s a very small bounty, the soldiers of whatever faction that planet or system belongs to will come after you from the second you land, making it harder to leave again and find another Bounty Clearance Kiosk.
How to wipe your Starfield bounty at an outpost
If you don’t want to take your chances building up another bounty on a populated planet, there is a way you can clear your bounty from your outpost. In the outpost building menu, there’s an option to create a Bounty Clearance Kiosk with just a few materials – those being Be – Beryllium, Al – Aluminum, and Zero Wire. To track those resources down, use the filter and search function in our Starfield planets database.
It’s a smart idea to add a Bounty Clearance Kiosk to an outpost in an otherwise deserted world, as it’s not much help when you need to clear a United Colonies bounty and your outpost is just outside New Atlantis.
There you have it, all you need to know to clear your Starfield bounty and get back to exploring the depths of space.
